Best place to visit in Jakarta, Indonesia

Apacabar (that’s hello in Indonesian) folks! One of the best places to visit in Jakarta is Taman Safari. It is very similar to what we think of as a zoo in the United States- only it has an Indonesian twist. When you are driving into Taman there are loads of little kids selling plantains and carrots so that you can feed the animals. Now get this- NONE OF THE ANIMALS ARE IN CAGES! There is no glass except for the car windows and even that is optional. The animals are just roaming free in areas and you can feed them. Although, when you get to the wild cat area there is a sign that advises you to roll the windows up at your own risk. Taman Safari gives you up close and personal contact with many animals and even some extremely unusual animals native to Indonesia like the Gila monster. They offer elephant rides around the park and you can get your picture taken with various animals including orangutans, tigers, and white leopards.

Day trip in Capitola, California

August 11, 2009 :: Posted by - Travel Troll :: Category - City

Capitola is a small beach-front city located at the base of the Santa Cruz mountains. Capitola is a charming place for a relaxing day trip, to stop at on a road trip down the California coast, or to spend more time on a vacation. This charming city features the Capitola Mercantile located right on the beach front. You will have a wonderful day while visiting shops and boutiques, getting some taffy from Carousel Taffy, looking at some paintings at the Thomas Kinkade Gallery, and grabbing a bite to eat from Pizza My Heart- all located right on the beach. Don’t forget to end the day with a  walk up along the cliffs as you watch the sun set over the ocean, but be careful- because it will take your breath away!   I have been to Capitola more times than I can count but every time is better than the last- it definitely keeps me coming back for more.
